Janice Rene Anthony, 19, is being held at the Tarrant County Correction Center facing charges of injury to a child resulting in the death of 3-year-old Paris Howard.
UPDATE Oct. 10: The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office ruled death as a homicide — “asphyxiation by manual strangulation.” The case has been forwarded to the grand jury for upgrade in charges.
Police said the child had obvious signs of bruising throughout her body and Anthony injured the child over potty training.
Anthony could soon face more charges pending the official medical examiner’s report in Tarrant County.
Her bond is set at $100,000.
